Our verdict

Outdoor installation, a driveway exposed to snow and freezing rain, daily year-round use: the Flo Home X5 is the safe bet thanks to its NEMA 4 rating, its −40 °C range and a cable that stays flexible in deep cold.

Enclosed or semi-sheltered garage, tighter budget, a preference for amp-level control and a discreet unit: the Wallbox Pulsar Plus does the job very well, with load balancing (Power Boost) as a bonus.

In both cases, have your electrical panel capacity verified before buying — it is the number one source of surprises on the final invoice. Both chargers require a dedicated 240 V circuit installed by a CMEQ master electrician.
